A little while ago I was out shopping with my partner and headed towards the Urban Decay counter to pick up a few essentials. As I was there my eyes landed upon the new BackTalk Palette and I knew instantly that I had to have it. To be honest when I first saw the palette I only saw the eyeshadow part of it and when I got it home I was more than shocked to discover that it also had two blushers and two highlighters included. The palette was literally like all of my dreams in one, the colours were absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t wait to have a play with it.
The palette consists 8 gorgeous eyeshadows that are completely up my street, they are perfect for the warm weather we are having at the moment and you can create an array of looks with them. Along with the eyeshadows are two beautiful blushers and highlighters, which I absolutely adore.
The palette also has a removable double sided mirror which I actually really like as it makes it easier for use than a normal palette mirror.
Like I said above the palette has two blushers and highlighters which are absolutely stunning. The pigmentation in them is amazing and when I say a little goes a long way, it really does. The colours of the blushers are Cheap Shot and Double Take with the highlighters being Low Key and Party Foul respectively.
Cheap Shot – Rich mauve with a slight shimmer
Double Take – Medium pink nude
Low Key – Pink Peach
Party Foul – Light pink nude shimmer
As you can see from the swatches above the cheek products in this palette really do pack a punch. They are finely milled and aren’t chalky at all. They blend into the skin and work with other make up products flawlessly, leaving you with a beautiful glow.
The eyeshadows are what had drawn me to this palette in the first place and I am absolutely hooked on them. I haven’t worn anything on my eyes other than the BackTalk palette since I bought it and I’m sure you can see why. With it’s beautiful mix of nude-mauve, soft berry and muted rose eyeshadow shades it really is the palette of dreams.
3 Sheets – Pale pink nude matte
Bare – Light peachy pink satin
Curve – Metallic rose shimmer with micro-glitter
Backtalk- Soft rosy mauve matte
Shade – Deep fuchsia satin
Attitude – Metallic red-copper
WTF – Reddish brown matte
180 – Metallic brown-red
The shadows themselves are very pigmented but I feel 3 Sheets and Backtalk are a little chalky, not in an overly obvious way but they can give a little hassle when trying to blend out and create some fall out. I haven’t really felt that this is a problem though as they are probably both of my favourite daytime shades out of the palette.
Other than that they all blend beautifully with and without primer, they have excellent colour payoff and I haven’t found that they have creased or disappeared throughout the day on my lids.
Over all the BackTalk Palette from Urban Decay is absolutely gorgeous, well worth the money and a must have for anyone who adores these shades.
