Something me and my partner try to do every other weekend is have a date night or date day. We find this keeps our relationship healthy, gives us time to be able to talk and that we get to spend some really nice quality time together making memories.
We try to always do something a little different every time we go out, although we do quite often frequent the same breakfast spot a lot. We can’t help that we absolutely love the food and atmosphere there, it’s kind of turned into our special little place.
Finding the time to date can be hard no matter where you are in your relationship, whether it be that first date stage or whether you have been together a while. Trying to find somewhere to fit in with your time and that’s relaxed can sometimes be a bit of a chore. So, I’ve come up with five date ideas that could be helpful.
Breakfast is great way to start off a date day or as a casual first date. There is no expectations when you have breakfast, it’s really chilled out and the fact that there’s no alcohol at breakfast means there is no way you could end up saying something you shouldn’t. You also enter and leave the date with a clear head.
Breakfast dates can be perfect for your first date, and they are especially great for when meeting someone off a dating site. This way you can get to know them, you don’t have to put a time limit on it and if you end up spending the day together, even better. I know two of my friends went on breakfast dates with their now partners whom they met on an online dating site, they had so much fun and said it was so relaxed that it actually put them more at ease for date number two.
Brunch is the perfect date, especially a boozy one. They are normally sold as unlimited food and unlimited booze for a set amount of time. I can’t tell you how much I love them and they are a real good laugh when done with your significant other.
I quite like going to ones that are located near the river in London as it’s lovely to take a nice walk down to them, eat and be merry, then walk all that food off afterwards with a lovely afternoon stroll.
Dinner out can be a really nice date, although a little cliche. I love it when we book a table at a fancy restaurant and have an excuse to get all dressed up.
It feels like we are both really putting the effort in to look our best for each other. The intimate settings of a restaurant give really romantic vibes too and you just can’t help but think you are genuinely happy to be with that person. The fact you get to enjoy gorgeous food and drink a few cheeky cocktails is a bonus too.
I know there are bars everywhere but I like the thought of going to a rooftop bar now that the weather is warmer. They have a great relaxed atmosphere and amazing views of the city.
A lot of roof top bars also have outdoor cinemas, mini golf and a whole host of other activities connected to them. This makes them the perfect place to have the ultimate fun but chilled night.

We are quite lucky to live in London, meaning we have a whole host of things to do on our doorstep. This also means that we have some great tourist attractions to visit too.
One of the things we love to do is spend the day in the city on a date day, seeing all the sights London has to offer. We occasionally start off at home by having breakfast and then will grab lunch and dinner out as the ultimate treat. We then spend the day being tourists in our own city. Things we love to do include walking down the South Bank and seeing all the street entertainers, looking at all the buildings or booking something fun like going on the London Eye.
So there you have it, five of my top date ideas. Obviously there are so many other ideas I could have put here and it’s all up to personal preference as to where you go and what you do. I just think that the most important thing is being able to spend time with the person you’re with, having great conversation and most importantly having fun in one another’s company.
