What is A Pony Called Steve? Well, it’s a brand that was started roughly five years ago when the creators of A Pony Called Steve found they just couldn’t get fun bath & body gifts for friends in beautiful packaging, without it being full of nasties (or having a really hefty price tag). They use 98% natural ingredients and almost all of their products are vegan friendly. The solid perfume and bath fizz that I have aren’t as one contains beeswax and the other contains milk powder (but they’re changing that). A Pony Called Steve never ever test on animals and their products are all hand made in tiny batches in the U.K.
A Pony Called Steve is a small company run by females, trying to make the world a better smelling place.
Who Is Steve?
Steve is a cheeky chappy with a super sharp sense of humour. He loves fun and bright colours and nonsense.
Steve might be a tiny Shetland pony, but inside he’s a rainbow coloured unicorn with a magical cape and wicked dance moves.
The name actually came about because the creators of A Pony Called Steve had a boutique in the west end of Glasgow. One of them came from the east every day and the other the south. The traffic drove them crazy and so one of the girls decided she was going to start coming in to work on a pony. The story grew arms and legs. The pony wouldn’t be tiny, the size of a big dog. The pony would love to dress up and would think he was a unicorn. The pony was to be called Steve. When they started making soaps and potions, they knew they couldn’t leave Steve behind…
Now, onto the bit’s I have been trying!.
Pear Drops Bath Fizz – £7.50*
Firstly, I absolutely love the packaging. It is really fun and quirky, making you feel proud to show it off in your bathroom.
One of the first things I noticed apart from how much product you get in the tub was the smell, it was sweet and fruity. It took me way back to my childhood, going into the corner shop to get my penny sweets where Pear Drops were my favourite… I miss those days!. Anyway, the smell is beautiful and gives you a really nice fragrance that lasts for hours when used in the bath.
One of the things I really like about the Bath Fizz is the fact that you can use as little or much as you decide, it doesn’t dry out your skin at all and leaves a heavenly fragrance.
This has been a massive hit with everyone, especially Tapanga who is pestering me to get more scents.
Pink Lemonade Solid Perfume – £6.00*
Yet again I really like the packaging, it’s fun a quirky just like the Pear Drops Bath Fizz. It comes in a nice compact tin, about the size of a standard potted lip balm and smells AMAZING!
You apply to your pulse points and the smell lingers for hours, I’ve had so many compliments when wearing it and people are surprised that it’s a solid perfume.
I love that it can be chucked in my handbag, doesn’t take up any space at all and I don’t have to worry about a bottle smashing. It is a definite must have for any handbag and I really can’t wait to try some of the other scents.
Over all I love both products and I shall definitely be repurchasing the Bath Fizz, a few other bits and a different scented Solid Perfume.
The prices are really good for all the products, considering they’re hand made and have no nasty things in. I also have a discount code giving you 10% off your order at A Pony Called Steve – CB10
