Last week I was lucky to head to the launch of the new Yardley London The Collection perfumes. I took Tapanga along as she loves getting to go to events and she absolutely loved this one. She is such a perfume junkie so was completely in her element.
The Collection consists of 5 exquisite fresh floral fragrances embodying the transformative power, beauty and allure of glittering gemstones and celebrating the opulence of British glamour. The dazzling, directional array of fragrances is exploding onto the fragrance scene, with them transporting the wearer through a nouveau of floral concoctions.
The Collection consists of the following 5 fragrances that certainly wont disappoint.
Poppy Diamond – Confident, Strong & Powerful
This is a sophisticated, sparkling and uplifting sheer floral fragrance. It represents the brilliance and magnetism of the diamond with refreshing top notes of pear and bergamot, enveloped in a sweet, subtle note of honey. The fragrance has an elegant heart of rose, peony and lilly of the valley, enhanced with a base of cedar wood, sandalwood and vanilla.
It’s a beautiful fragrance and is in my top two out of all the five fragrances. The fragrance was developed by perfumer Juliette Karagueuzoglu, who created the fragrance to express all the facets of a rose in a contemporary way.
Daisy Sapphire – Cheeky, Playful & Cute
A dewy, fresh green floral bouquet inspired by the striking vibrancy of the yellow sapphire. It has a burst of cheerful, energetic top notes of dewy green leaves and apple. It unravels into white rose and hyacinth in its heart, drying down to the warm base notes of sandalwood and musk.
This is my favourite perfume out of The Collection, it has a scent that makes you feel instantly happy and like summer has arrived. Juliette Karagueuzoglu also developed this fragrance. She created it from memories of how a field of daisies smell and the freshness of the air.
Rosie Ruby – Classic Rock Chick
An edgy, head turning fragrance that exudes the beauty of the pink ruby stone, with ripe fruity top notes of mandarin, pear, peach and cassis. The fragrance then folds into an assertive heart of pink pepper, peony, rose and orange flower water. It is balanced by the soft, warm base note of cedar wood, sandalwood and vanilla.
This fragrance is Tapanga’s favourite, luckily Yardley kindly gifted her one so she has been wearing it non-stop since last week. The fragrance was developed by Domitille Bertier who wanted to create a unique and unforgettable scent that gives confidence to every woman from the first spritz.
Flora Jade – Boho Chic
Flora Jade is a crisp, green, floral chypre that captures the bold, exuberant spirit of the jade gemstone. Fruity, aromatic top notes of peach, bergamot and galbanum blend with an airy floral bouquet of rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and orris. The fragrance is then delicately wrapped up in base notes of patchouli, sandalwood and moss.
Although I like this fragrance I do think that you have to really like earthy scents to be able to wear it. It was created by Anne-Sophie Chapuis who loves absolutely loves chypres, she considers it to be the most sensual, sexy olfactive family.
Lastly, a fragrance not pictured as it’s the only one out of the five I don’t own.
Lilac Amethyst – Edgy, Mysterious & Androgynous
A multifaceted floral woody fragrance inspired by the enchanting allure of the amethyst crystal. Reflecting the olfactive trend for androgynous floral, woody scents for women. It has an intriguing blend of fresh pear, lemon and bergamot with basil in the top note. The heart has fig, peach flower, spicy black pepper and powdery heliotrope, complimented by a skin soft, warm woody amber base.
I actually really liked Lilac Amethyst when I tried the scent at the launch, it’s definitely one I would wear on occasion. Nelly Hachem-Ruiz was the creator of this scent, her goal was for the fragrance to create a memorable scent that fuses fresh and deeper sensual notes together in harmony.
With almost 250 years of floral expertise, the House of Yardley has brought it’s British heritage bang up to date with this decadent yet affordable collection. It is designed to appeal to the mature millennial, aged 35+ but I actually think the younger market are going to snap them right up too. I am just approaching 30 and absolutely love them, I would definitely buy a couple of the fragrances if I smelt them in store.
