It seems like forever since I posted anything beauty related. So, I thought I would go straight in with my one true love… Lip products. I’m a massive fan of lipsticks and glosses, I own far too many to even count and I just added these two beauties from Joan Collins Timeless Beauty to my collection.
First up we have the Devine Lips Lipstick in Melanie* (£18.00) – A pale violet shade that looks almost plum in the bullet. The lipstick glides on so easily and there is intense colour pay-off with a swift swipe. I have applied it using both a lip brush and straight from the bullet with the exact same colour pay-off.
The lipstick itself is highly moisturising and covers any imperfections on the lips. Because the lipstick is so highly pigmented when it wears off you are left with a pink stain to the lips. This isn’t something I worry too much about as it wears quite evenly and the full effect of the lipstick lasts a good 4 hours.
The Glorious Gloss Lip Gloss in Piper* (£18.00) – A beautiful dusky pink shade that is very flattering. It has a high gloss finish and a serious colour pay-off. I would liken this more to a liquid lipstick but with a gloss finish. It does cling to any imperfections on your lips, make sure you give them a good scrub to get them in tip top condition before using.
The gloss is highly moisturising like the lipstick. As it’s a gloss it doesn’t last quite as long but it does go a good 2-3 hours before needing a touch up.
Both of them work extremely well together and create a beautiful colour. It’s definitely getting me in the mood for Valentines make up with a twist on the ever so popular red lip.
