Lush Lovin’ – I Shall Wave My Magic Wand

October 27, 2011 · 7 Comments

I love this time of year when it gets colder and you just want to cosy up inside but what better way to get your cosy night off to a start other than getting in a gorgeous hot bath, this is always when I turn to Lush and one of their many ballistics, bath melts or bubble bars.
Magic Wand £4.95

Loads of BUBBLES!! And pink water 🙂

After 6 baths

Followed with a bit of Snow Fairy £3.25 for 100g
When I first saw the Magic Wand I thought OMG! I love this, it reminded me of when I was a child and would play dress up with my magical fairy wings.
I was a bit sceptical about this bubble bar on a stick that claimed to keep on giving but it really does keep on giving!. What you do is run the bath and give this a good old swish around the water creating a pink trail from where you have waved your wand…. Then this is where the magic happens and tons of frothy white bubbles are created.
This smells exactly like Snow Fairy, now I’m sure all you Lush addicts are aware of this sweet candyfloss smelling shower gel that gets us in a tizz at Christmas so what better to pair this little Magic Wand with other than Snow Fairy itself.
The bubbles are so soft as is the water and they leave your skin feeling beautifully soft and the smell lingering on your skin for ages.
I wonder how many more baths I can get out of my magical wand?.

Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask

October 24, 2011 · 3 Comments

Hello you gorgeous bunch!
I don’t know about you guys but I love a good face mask, when I was younger I remember going into Superdrug to buy their Mud Mask and Raspberry Exfoliating Mask then sitting at my friend Rachael’s house watching movies while letting them dry then trying not to laugh to crack them off.
It seems that these face masks are no longer the same as they were back then or my childish ways and skin were the only things that seemed to agree with them, I now want something more luxurious and that works which is where Liz Earle jumps in.

I really can’t fault Liz Earle on any of their skincare that I have tried, they seem to have something to suit everyone and this mask is yet again another brilliant product from them.
As with all their products its natural skincare which to me just makes it feel even more luxurious and like it is doing good to your skin. It has naturally active ingredients which include Green Clay, Manuka Honey, Propolis and Rose Scented Geranium which makes for a really nice smelling mask.
As you can see its quite a thick mask and it applies really well to the face, they say leave it on for about 10 minutes but I normally leave it on for around 15-20 as I like to know a product has worked when using it. It doesn’t seem to dry into a crispy cracking off your face mask like my old Superdrug ones used to instead its just a little tight feeling.
After using it I can really tell the difference in my skin and it seems to look instantly clearer, brighter and cleaner! It is also amazingly soft. My skin is quite dry on my cheeks and I have an oily T-Zone but this just seems to balance everything out instead of making my dry patches feeling drier which I really like. It also comes with 2 natural sponges (Not pictured) to help take it off and also have some sort of exfoliating properties which helps with the glowing revitalised skin I’m seeing after using it.
You can buy the starter kit (75ml tube and 2 sponges) for £13.25 on the Liz Earle website.
I think if you spend a lot of money buying cheaper alternatives that you never really use you might as well try this out as it will be a money saving in the long run if you love it as much as I do.
Have you tried this? Are you going to?

Garnier BB Cream

October 22, 2011 · 12 Comments

Hi Girls!

Now everyone and their wife seems to be going on about BB creams and how amazing they are so I’m sure like many others I was happy when Garnier decided to hit the market with theirs.

I brought this in Boots when it was on offer for about £8.00 thinking lets see what all this kafluff is about with these BB creams as I had wanted to try one for ages but just never got around to it.
On inspecting the colours I realised that I would have to go for the Light option which for me is actually quite odd because I am not Light in anything but the Medium was far too dark for my liking and when swatched you could really see the difference.
When you first squeeze this out of the tube it is very thick in consistency but as soon as you start rubbing it in it seems to become thinner in a light moisturiser sort of way and absorbs really easily into the skin.
I do have a problem with the smell though as it reminds me of some sort of tea which I am not a fan of but once you are wearing it the smell does wear off after a little while.
Now this is where it comes to if I like it or not and to be honest I still really haven’t decided if I do, I like the feel of it and the concept of a BB cream but I feel like for me this is just a good tinted moisturiser. It just seems to sink into the skin leaving a tiny hint of colour and glow with a smoother appearance but there is no improvement in my skintone just the same blotchy redness that was always there and it didn’t seem to blur any imperfections like it claims.
I have started using it as a base for my foundation though as it does give the smoother surface of a primer plus with the added sort of glow it really does show through making you appear to have healthier skin.
I say if you really want to try it try and get a sample before you actually buy to see how you feel about it, luckily for me it has found a different purpose but for those of you expecting it to be a miracle its probably not going to be.
Have you tried this? Like it? Found a different outcome to me?

Lush Lovin’ – Golden Wonder

October 14, 2011 · 10 Comments

Helloooo!!
Ah Lush Lovin’ is back, I think these are actually one of my favourite posts to write and give me a massive excuse to go and raid Lush for new products!. As you know I went a did a bit of a Lush Christmas Collection Haul, which will obviously be used all up by Christmas but oh well another excuse to grab some more surely?!.
Golden Wonder

Golden Wonder – £3.25 – Lush

First off let me start by saying this ballistic is HUGE!! Actually nearly all of the Christmas ballistics are. This one is quite special though because its a present and you can rattle it to try and guess what’s inside… How cool is that hey?!.
To me it smells completely different when its in its ballistic form to when its in the bath, more of a warming smell once its dissolved but it is a smell that most Lush’a’holics will know and that is Champagne Showers and for those of you who don’t its a zesty champagne cocktail type smell. One that I really like.
I love the way that this ballistic seems to unfold layer after layer of different colour goodness starting with a light yellow gold then bright yellow, green, blue then pinky purple leaving the whole bath in a lagoon greeny blue…. Wow my description of colour is awful, but look at the pictures and I’m sure you will get what I mean! It also bursts out stars which leaves your bath looking like a glittery galaxy reflection on the night time sea.
It left the water feeling really soft and like silk plus the stars dissolve so there is no messy big bits to clean out of your bath like some others. It left my skin feeling super soft and with the gorgeous smell lingering on my skin for ages afterwards.
I am definitely going to grab a few more of these before they disappear.

It Was Love At First Sight…

October 4, 2011 · 6 Comments

Hey Girls!
Have you ever seen a bottle of perfume and fallen in love instantly, knowing that by the look of the bottle you are going to love whats inside it? I do this quite a lot and 90% of the time I do actually really love whats inside and that was no exception with this one either.
Diesel Loverdose – 50ml – Around £45
I am in awe of this perfume, I seriously am! The bottle, the smell its just like heaven!
According to The Perfume Shop this has heart notes of Vanilla and Liquorice, top notes of Mandarin and Star Anise and base notes of Dry Woods.
Now to me all these top, base and heart notes always confuse me because I’m sat here for ages trying to sniff them out but I can see with this one where they are coming from because its definitely got Vanilla in it and it smells slightly warm and fruity (tell I’m crap at this describing smell lark, can’t ya?!).
Overall I think it is gorgeous and just for the bottle alone I think its worth a buy.
I bought mine from Superdrug for £43.00 and they also had an offer on where you got 500 extra Superdrug Beauty Card Points, so I basically got it for £38.00…. Bargain!!
Have you tried this yet? Want to get it?
