I am one of those people who can never get a good nights sleep, no matter how comfortable I am there is always something going on whether its a crack of light peeping in, thoughts running through my mind or the fact that my phone isn’t too far off so I can have a little nose to keep me busy and awake. I’m always exhausted in the morning and most times I start my day running on empty because I feel I just simply don’t have the time and want to make sure everyone gets out the door on time.
Last month Silentnight were celebrating National Bed month and teamed up with Warburtons to help people get a great nights sleep as well as a great good morning as most of us find everything else to do like checking our emails, tweeting, facebooking and even watching telly instead of actually eating then using the excuse of having no time which I am quite clearly guilty of 99% of the time.
I was sent a sleep and breakfast kit to help me try and get a good nights sleep as well as getting into the habit of eating breakfast. To be honest since I received this I have been eating breakfast at least 5 days out of 7 which is a massive vast improvement and I have been trying to steer clear of my phone for at least half an hour when I get up so I can just take some time to eat and do things that I need to instead of spending 30 minutes browsing through Instagram, twitter and facebook as they can all wait.
Silentnight’s research showed that when it comes to the mornings the UK can be broken down into four types of persona’s for the morning
Robotic Risers – Loves a routine and rarely snoozes the alarm. Everything is done in the same order at the same time every morning, if the routine is disrupted they are left feeling panicked and rushed
Serial Snoozers – Loves the snooze button and prolonging their sleep as they are a slow riser who has usually been up late the night before. Often relies on caffeine to gain energy to rush out of the house at the last minute.
Opportunistic Nappers – Will get up early and on time but still feel the need to rely on naps throughout the day. They normally sleep well at night but are more restless throughout the day.
Energetic Early Birds – Up bright and early, normally in the gym at the crack of dawn. By the time most of us are waking up the energetic early bird will have already eaten breakfast and be ready for their day ahead.
I am definitely a Robotic Riser as I like to do everything down to the very last minute, I hate it when I’m getting ready and ask someone else the time as I want to know the exact time not a half past when its really 28 minutes past! Those minimal minutes are crucial to my routine and can ruin my whole day if I don’t stick to it. Because I’ve had this routine for ages adding breakfast into the mix has been hard but I’ve found that because I don’t spend as much time on my phone now I have swapped it for breakfast.
I now have a wind down process where I take around an hour just to relax at night before bed and try to use a pillow mist and a sleep mask as much as I can as I found I do get a better nights sleep from that.
So my question to you is…
Do you tweet before you eat?
