Valentines Day is fast approaching, with a third of men and a quarter of women planning on spending a nice cosy romantic night in with their loved one.
I know that me and my partner have plans to stay in on Wednesday. It just starts getting ridiculously priced if you want to go out and also we aren’t all about the cliches. We like to spend time with each other and enjoying one another’s company.
We are also lucky as Tapanga is not going to be here on Valentines Day which means that we can relax, watch a movie and spend some time alone. Especially as alone time is so scarce when children are involved, so sometimes it’s really nice to be able to carve out that little bit of time for you guys to just be you.
My perfect Valentines evening would involve a long candle lit bath, not just because it’s romantic but because it’s relaxing. I swear, I never seem to have any time to relax. I’m always on the go, always having to sort something out for Tapanga, working, cleaning, doing washing… You get my drift, the list is endless.
I would then love a meal that I don’t have to cook, it would be nice to just sit back, glass of wine in hand and let my partner take control. Luckily, he is quite a good cook so I wouldn’t mind what he makes. Although, I know he makes a great steak, cooked exactly how I like it. If he was to make that he would be on to an absolute winner.
I actually read that steak is a modern day aphrodisiac, followed by a roast dinner and a good old curry. Apparently all of these ring the bells for a night of passion, it’s better than sticking to the norm of oysters, strawberries and chocolate.
I am however going to be making the dessert as my partner loves the cakes I bake. Remember the way to a mans heart is through his stomach, as me and two thirds of British women surveyed by HelloFresh say. Although, men aren’t quite the same with that thinking, with only a third thinking they can cook their way into their lady’s heart.
I would love to end the night watching a movie we love, snuggled on the sofa and just enjoying the peace and quiet.
How are you spending your Valentines Day? What’s your perfect Valentines evening?
