I think we all have moments that matter every single day whether it’s just helping someone to do something, giving them a smile or even if you’ve planned something great… Every single moment matters even if it doesn’t specifically for you.
I have many moments from the last year that I could write about here – I turned 25, I went on holiday, I re-lived my childhood, I met new people, spent a lot of time with friends and just generally have a load of moments that really mean something to me but I have to say my favourite moment has to be a weekend I spent with one of my very close friends and Tapanga.
My friend comes from Leeds, so whenever she is down she likes to do the whole tourist thing and take a great big look around London. This time she was down we had no idea what we were going to do but it started with an ‘I wanna see Big Ben’ to a ‘Let’s go find a Nandos!’.
We ended up taking the longest of walks from Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge where we encountered so many things along the way, we met a zombie, a talking cat, a cowboy and saw some great live music while walking under trees covered in hanging hearts along the South Bank – This made me fall in love with London again, I mean I have always loved my home town but taking it in through someone elses eyes and seeing what they see when they are here was something that I could never explain.
We also ventured into Camden which is one of my favourite places because my friend wanted to go to the market and just take a look at everything she had ever heard about. We shopped until we dropped buying loads of different trinkets and ate amazing food, we even found a great little vegan restaurant which had some of the best ratatouille I have ever tasted in my life. Tapanga wanted to try on everything and was posing for pictures at every single opportunity and I think everything that happened that weekend makes this a definite moment that mattered.
My Moments that Mattered was inspired by the Lloyds Bank Advert which you can find on YouTube or a TV screen near you!
Have you had some moments that have mattered over the last year?
I would love to hear them.
