How beautiful is this little tin of cake filled with Christmas cheer?
When the Baker Days Letterbox Cake popped through my letterbox I was so excited, I mean cake delivered right to my front door…. What more could a girl ask for?
The cake came displayed in such a beautiful little tin with the added extra of a little cracker and a Christmas card which I thought was quite cute, it was something I definitely wasn’t expecting. The tin will come in handy with helping to store things and the fact that its quite pretty is an added bonus.
The cake itself had printed on it Happy Christmas Charli with a beautiful bauble design which I really loved and thought looked really pretty, the only problem I had with the design is that half of it came off when I removed the plastic packaging as it was stuck to the cake. It didn’t bother me too much though as it was for me personally and not a gift for someone although I have seen other reviews of the letterbox cakes and they look in perfect condition once removed from packaging so mine was probably a fluke but its why I have chosen not to post any more pictures of the cake.
The cake I was sent was a beautiful light sponge that sat on a layer of buttercream, covered in delicious icing. The cake is quite small obviously as it fits through the letterbox but you can get at least four decent portions.
The letterbox cakes can be made in a various array of cake flavours so they really are personalised to your needs, the flavours they have are plain sponge, chocolate chip, fruit cake, gluten and wheat free, and dairy free. That means even if someone has allergies or an intolerance to something they can still get a personalised cake delivered straight to their door.
The letterbox cakes start at £14.99 and you get free delivery included in the price which I think is quite good as even though the cake is quite small you do get a fair few portions from it, its made so well with care and attention to be personalised for anyone. Baker Days do anything from birthday and cup cakes to completely your own personalisation cakes which really does mean theres something there for everyone, not only do they do letterbox cakes they do in fact do larger cakes that can serve up to 55 people.
If you are looking to buy a letterbox cake you can head over to the Baker Days website where you will be able to purchase one. If you purchase one on the 12th of December you will actually be helping the charity Save The Children as for every cake Baker Days sells they will be donating £2.50 from the sale to the charity.
