Hi there! My name is Amy Marie and I blog over at Cocktails in Teacups. I volunteered to do a guest post for Charli while she’s off on her holidays. I have just come back from mine, 5 days in Disneyland Paris with my mum and my 2 year old daughter and I have the worst post holiday blues. In my opinion the best thing to cheer yourself up after a holiday is of course, book another one… haha, but if you can’t do that, shop! I figured a nice way to really showcase what I’m all about is to do a wishlist of some of bits i’m really lusting after at the moment. If you like what you see, please head over to my blog and check it out!
So if I hadn’t just spent a ton on my daughter in Disneyland, here is what I would be buying to cheer myself up.
So yes, this wishlist basically sums up everything that I am about florals, polkadots, bows, red lips with a hint of Disney and fairy tales for good measure! I am stereotypically girly and the Spring/Summer months definitely bring out the best in my fashion tastes.
So starting with my fashion choices; my favourite online shopping destination, Scarlett Fashion just started stocking one of my favourite brands Emily and Fin, so naturally I’m lusting after a couple of dresses already. The first being this gorgeous Navy Polka Dot Sophie Dress RRP £45. I love the style and fit of it, the synched in waste is bound to be flattering and it looks like it would be easy to transition from day to night while wearing it. Also with the free shipping world wide, it’s hard to say no! Next up, another of my stops when online clothes shopping, Bonne Chance Collection. This place also ships world wide from America, I’ve ordered from them twice before and there have been no custom charges! I’m completely in love with this dress as it has a gorgeous bow back, it’s called the Garden Party Dress RRP $45.99. It’s even in my size at the moment so it’ll be a serious test of wills not to purchase it to cheer myself up. And you can hardly buy a new dress without buying new accessories too! As I’m going as Ariel to London Film and Comicon in July I have a sudden obsession with having a bow in my red hair, and pastel colours are perfect to avoid clashing! I love these Medium Pastel Glitter Bows RRP £6 from Crown & Glory. I have made a ton of purchases from there already this summer, I’m especially fond of the mystery boxes. I’ve been hitting up Etsy a lot recently particularly for homeware and accessories as I really like to have something a bit different. I’ve actually had a 101 similar versions of this Silver Crown Ring RRP £13.42 saved over the past few months, but I think this one is my favourite. In case you hadn’t guessed from my choice of holiday, I am a big.. HUGE.. Disney fan, especially when the Disney is subtle like with this Anna from Frozen Inspired Messer Bag RRP £24.41 I’m an Anna type (rather than an Elsa type) so everything Anna related I want. This bag looks great for carrying everything I need around and it isn’t right in your face Disney (like everything else I own is!)
Now onto my beauty picks, starting with the perfume. If you follow my blog you’ll know I’m a devout Marc Jacobs perfume user to the point that I like to own every single bottle.. but since smelling Escada’s Born in Paradise RRP £25 – £44, I’ve been in love! It is the most perfect summer smell and it really reminds me of holidays which would be perfect to drag me out of my post holiday blues. And since discovering that Megan from Briar Rose wore Lime Crime’s Retrofuturistic Lipstick RRP £13.50 to her wedding, I’ve been on the hunt for it as she had the most perfect lips for her big day. I’m a huge fan of Megan’s blog and if you don’t fancy having a read of Cocktails in Teacups, I really suggest you take a look at The Briar Rose blog instead!
Finally, as mentioned above, I also use Etsy to find unusual things for my house, this gorgeous Once Upon a Time Embroidery Hoop RRP £13.42 is exactly the sort of things I look for. I’m always on the hunt for cute bits and pieces for my bedroom and this would fit in above my dressing table perfectly.
And there you have it, what would really cheer me up after my holidays is buying all this! But since I can’t I am actually booking next years holiday this week. I’m sure that will put a smile on my face!
