I am sure all of you are aware that TOWIB was held a few weeks ago and the guys from VIVO Cosmetics were there demonstrating a few looks with their products, we were each then given a goodie bag with products in from the look that we liked the most. I chose the ‘Winter Bold’ look as I was instantly drawn to one of the lipsticks used in it.
Now the colour that caught my eye was the Coral Flair but after trying Red Red I am now in love!
Me and reds have never really mixed but this just seems to be the perfect red for me and I love the way it looks.
These lipsticks are really moisturising and last for a good while which is great for a lippy that only costs £1.99. The only thing I can say is that Coral Flair seemed to cling to every single bit of dry skin on my lips and made them look bitty as you can see in the picture above, which was after I had scrubbed my lips too. I am hoping that maybe this one is a dud so if I see it in a Tesco that stocks VIVO I shall pick myself up another as I absolutely love the colour, I did however put gloss over the top and it looked fine but I am not really a fan of glossy wet looking lips so I don’t want to have to do that every time I want to wear this colour.
VIVO are stocked in Tesco so you can pick them up while doing your weekly food shop which is brilliant.
Have you tried VIVO? What do I need to be buying from them?
So when the guys at E.L.F sent me the Foundation they also sent me one of their Matte Lip Colour Pencils (I actually have a E.L.F haul to share with you guys, or I might just do a few reviews on the bits I got when they were 50% off as I have been using it all).
I have to say I am impressed with this lip pencil overall, I love the colour although not the type of Coral I was expecting it is a gorgeous shade verging more on the Pink side. It applies easily seemingly gliding over your lips and I think the matte finish that it gives off is not that sucked in prune lipped effect but instead a moisturised dryness if that makes any sense?!.
I’ve been wearing this on the days when I have done very little with my make up and just want to keep everything simple, I have also been popping a slick of clear gloss over the top just to add a nice glossy sheen because as we know I am not a massive fan of matte lips so can face wearing them every time I want to adorn this colour.
The pencil itself is a twist up one which houses quite a lot of product but you have to be careful with it as it regularly seems to catch the side of the actual product taking bits along with it as you twist up and down, the lid also stays on really securely which is great for when you have it out and about with you as you know its not going to get broken or draw all over the inside of your bag.
I actually think I may have found the matt lip colour of my dreams and that’s only after one day!
Collection 200 Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream in Fairy Cake
Well maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration but I do adore this lip cream. I have never really been one for matt lip products as to me they always seem a tad drying and always seem to look yak on the lips but for me this one is different, maybe that’s due to the fact its a lip cream? As you apply it, it feels like velvet and completely moisturising. It also doesn’t leave your lips feeling or looking like a shriveled up prune as I think some matt colours do.
Its lasting ability is quite good with about 3 hour wear and the colour is a beautiful coral, which is completely up my street. The best thing about this for me is the fact that it doesn’t actually feel like you are wearing anything on your lips and feels as light as air, which I think is going to be perfect for them warm days when you don’t want to feel like you are wearing anything.
I also think the price of them are really good at only £2.99 although they are relatively smaller (5mls) than your average lipgloss but I think the feel and design of them are much more luxe than your average collection 2000 lip product. I think there are 3 other colours in the range which are a Pink, Nude and a Beige.
Where do you guys stand on matt lips? What is your favourite matt lip product?
I know I have already posted today but you know when you buy something, use it and instantly fall in love? Well I have had that with this, its not normally a product I would buy but was intrigued by it so thought why not and also I only bought it yesterday so god knows how much I will love it in a few weeks but today I am in love for the moment….
Revlon Just Bitten in Passion
After 4 hours
After 9 hours
Firstly let me tell you applied this at 8:30am just as I was getting ready to go on the school run and snapped a FOTD picture (But hated it, hair all over the place haha!) By 12:30ish when I was about to get lunch I saw how bright my lips were still looking and thought oh I’ll grab a pick for when I want to post on it then lastly at 5:30ish when I gave Tapanga dinner she asked me if I was wearing Lipstick so thought I would go have a nose in the mirror and behold there was still the remains of the lipstain there!
Now I love the colour of this its just that amount of summer bright in a sort of sheer but deep way, it applies like a dream and the balm is so conditioning and seems to take the colour to this nice glossy deeper dimension. And as you can see it wears off really nicely and I haven’t had to re-apply all day even though I have drank various drinks and eaten throughout the day, I have just removed what remains of it too very easily with a face wipe.
I am thinking this is now going to be one of the stable products in my make up and will definitely be investing in some more! Imagine how great they will be for nights out and days when you don’t want to drag that lippie around in your bag for fear of it coming open, breaking and getting unwanted fluff in it (Come on we all know its happened to us at some point).
Have you tried these? Something similar? What do you think?
So today I wanted to attempt some sort of FOTD but I am so useless at taking pictures of myself it is actually unbelievable…. Seriously if you have any tips give them to me!! Haha!
I am not a massive fan of this picture but this was actually the best one I had taken after about 300 different poses! So hello this is me just in case you all thought I was a mystery blogger, I am real 🙂
My hair is at that stage where its growing out from when I had my hair cut in a Frankie Sandford inspired cut for the past year and a bit, its actually doing really well its reaching my shoulders and the last time I had it cut like Frankie does was in September but I just shove it up in a clip most days because I’m unsure of how I’m liking having longer hair.
Well lets get on to the fun bit, what I used for my FOTD…
