One thing I get complimented on quite a lot is how good my skin looks, how I always look flawless and how do I do it. I remember a comment that has stuck with me is when one of my friends went ‘Char you always look perfect, your face is always flawless and you always seem to look natural yet done up’ I have no idea why this has stuck with me but maybe because it’s the look I try to go for, I love make up but I love it to look like it is an extension of me not like I’ve trowelled it on. Over the last few months I have found a method that works 100% better than my old method so I thought I would share my little secret with you all…
First off let me start by saying the Real Techniques brushes are new to my routine as it used to be my trustworthy Sigma F80 but these have replaced it as it’s become a bit wispy and not doing the job it once done properly.
The secret to my flawless base has to be a mixture of Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and my Vichy Dermablend Foundation, although I have found it works with all my foundations but the Vichy one is my favourite due to the fact I have issues with pigmentation on my face and this makes it non existent.
All I do is put 2/3rds of how much foundation I would normally use and a pea sized amount of Beauty Flash Balm on the back of my hand, mix them together and apply. This turns the foundation into a slightly gel like formula that blends like a dream and covers every single imperfection I have and because the Beauty Flash Balm has a brightening and tightening effect it gives you a remarkable smooth brighter natural skin finish.
I find that using either the Real Techniques Buffing Brush or Expert Face Brush works just as well but I just vary them depending on how I’m feeling in the morning but they both give the same effect. I find that when I mix the two together it also lasts a lifetime, I mean I apply this in the morning and by the time I am getting ready to go to bed and removing my make up it will still be there, no budging or no patchiness.
Now the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm doesn’t come cheap but I think its worth every single penny plus if you shop around you can find it for much cheaper than its RRP like for instance it retails for around £28 but you can pick it up for £22 at Escentual.com along with the Vichy foundation which is normally sold for £15.50 but Escentual have it for £13.15… They are always my port of call when looking for my beauty stables!.
