Holiday Hair Essentials

Holiday Hair Essentials

I’m so excited because on Tuesday I am jetting off to spend 10 whole days in Mallorca, its my home away from home and I absolutely love the place. I am going with my best friend and fellow blogger Tanya from Glam Glitz Gloss to Palma where we stay in the same apartment every year with Magaluf just around the corner for us to party to our hearts content.

We aren’t ones for packing light but this year we have both tried to hone it in a little so I have really pulled it back with what I am taking for my hair, taking just 4 products and 2 tools! This is seriously an achievement for me as I am normally the one packing hair oils, salt sprays, curl enhancers and a treatment of some sort.

I have packed the Palmers Manuka Honey Range as since I have started using them I can’t get enough and have re-bought them, they are so great and I feel like my hair is in the best condition it has been in a long time. I have also packed the Celsius Hair Ceramic Heat Protect & Shine Spray which is the best heat protection spray I have used, it smells like gorgeous sweet raspberries and adds incredible shine to the hair so doubles up as a product.

Finally I have packed the Braun Style & Go Mini Styler and Dryer, both are the smallest and lightest of their kind from Braun’s Style & Go, travel-ready collection, perfect for shaping your style anywhere or giving great results for handy touch-ups on the go. They both pack a great punch and work just as great as their bigger counterparts without taking up the space that they would meaning there’s plenty of space left to buy lots of holiday souvenires, or in my case bring back a few bottles of cheap vodka!.

The Palmers Manuka Honey Range is priced between £5.99 and £6.99 at Superdrug, Celsius Hair Ceramic Heat Protect & Shine Spray is £14.99 on the Celsius website, Braun Style & Go Mini Styler £19.99 and Braun Style & Go Hair Dryer £12.99 both from Argos

Celsius Hair Ceramic Heat Protect & Shine Spray

April 13, 2016 · 20 Comments

Celsius Hair

Did you know that most of the heat protectors on the market today are made up with water? This is what gives you that sizzling sound when you straighten your hair. Celsius Hair have come up with a great concept with their Ceramic Heat Protect & Shine Spray* which isn’t made up with water at all but instead a formula which actively works with your heated styling tools to protect your hair and create a beautiful shine while doing so.

The Celsius Hair Ceramic Heat Protect & Shine Spray is a lightweight spray that can be used on damp hair before blowdrying your hair for added heat protection or on dry hair when using a straightening or curling iron, it protects the hair to temperatures up to 230°C which is pretty hot so I am sure you are in safe hands no matter how hot your styling tool goes to.

The Ceramic Heat Protect & Shine Spray smells absolutely amazing with a sweet raspberry scent which really lasts throughout your hair, I absolutely adore it. The best things about the spray is that it really works and helps my straighteners glide over my hair with ease, my hair isn’t left looking damaged or tatty and the shine that is left is so beautiful.

If you would like to pick up a bottle of the Celsius Hair Ceramic Heat Protect & Shine Spray you can for £14.99 on the Celsius website.

Bandzee Monthly Subscription

April 6, 2016 · 22 Comments

Bandzee Nautical

If you have a household like mine you will forever be buying hair bands as they are always going missing, I never seem to be able to buy them in time though so we’ve been left so many times in desperate need of some and an emergency hair band run has been possible. I swear we have little gremlins that come in from month to month to just do a clean sweep of the place, taking every last one they can find.

In February I discovered Bandzee after they followed me on twitter, I took a look at their site and saw that they offer a monthly subscription service where they send you out a random pack of bands which is absolutely perfect for us as 1, it gives us something to look forward to and 2, it means that we have an endless supply of hair bands coming to the house and no emergency runs should be needed.

The best thing about the bands from Bandzee are the fact they aren’t like your normal hair bands that end up kinking your hair when you pop it in a pony and they don’t have any metal joining them together which ends up snagging your hair, something I absolutely love as there is nothing worse than getting your hair caught in the metal and ripping it out. They are made from super soft elastic trim, a bit like the fabric that is made to make clothes or underwear, they are super soft and strong which means they wont damage your hair at all.

This month we got the Nautical themed bands which came in the cutest packaging which I just think adds to how great they are, the pot is a great size for storing your bands in or anything else for that matter.

On a side note I did have a little issue with Bandzee and my subscription as on my account it wasn’t showing up but they had taken my money, I contacted them once I realised my order was late and I have to say their customer service was great! They rectified everything within a day even though the Easter Bank Holiday was looming where some companies would have used that as an excuse and got them shipped out to me straight away, they arrived on the Tuesday straight after Easter.

The subscription costs £4.95 a month but if you are to buy the bands as a one off its £5.95 both options come with free delivery, if you’re interested you can check out the Bandzee website.

Palmers Manuka Honey Haircare Range

March 29, 2016 · 19 Comments

Palmers Manuka Flower Honey Haircare Range

I have been a fan of Palmer’s for as long as I can remember, I have gone through countless amounts of their original cocoa butter and I adore their lip balms for their gorgeous chocolatey scent and hydrating formulas. I never really knew that Palmer’s did haircare until recently when I tried out the Manuka Flower Honey Haircare Range from them.

The Palmer’s Manuka Flower Honey Haircare Range consists of a Strengthening Shampoo*, Nourishing Conditioner* and a Leave-In Conditioner*. All are colour safe and designed for all hair types with no sulfates, parabens, phthalates or dyes which helps to naturally restore moisture and shine.

The whole range is a match made in heaven with the shampoo lathering up really well, leaving my hair feeling really clean and nourished. The conditioner isn’t at all heavy so it doesn’t weigh the hair down at all, but it is highly moisturising which is great for my dry, damaged, curly hair. The shining star for me is the leave-in conditioner as it really does help de-tangle my hair after I have washed it, tame my frizz and when I leave my hair to dry naturally I feel it helps to really define my curls without having to add any other product. All products have the same fragrance which I love because nothing is worse than when you have a range of products that don’t mesh well together, this also makes your hair smell fresher for longer. I am absolutely rubbish at describing scents but I want to go with creamy cocoa honey, if you can imagine that then I think you can picture it perfectly.

Over all I absolutely adore all three of the products as they leave my hair soft, manageable and shiny. I absolutely intend on buying them as soon as they run out.

You can buy the shampoo and conditioner for £6.99 each and the leave-in conditioner for £5.99 from Superdrug

Short Hair

June 4, 2015 · Leave a Comment

Short Hair Style

Yesterday I got bored and decided I needed a change so chopped off a whole heap of my hair, so I now officially have short hair!

It may come to a surprise to many of you but I actually cut my own hair, I can’t deal with going to the hairdresser as the only person I trust with my hair is so amazing she is always booked up and because she is my friend I hate asking her to do it for me when we see each other socially. I am of course a hairdresser myself and I wouldn’t just hack away at my hair if I didn’t feel confident enough in chopping it off myself.

I have given myself a slightly graduated longer length bob, that has lots of layers and volume in it and I really love it. My hair feels fresher, lighter and so much healthier.

Are you going shorter for the summer? Have you ever cut your hair yourself?
