I’ve been using Vichy products for quite a while now and would have to say that their foundation and setting powder is my hands down holy grail of foundations and setting powders. I honestly don’t think I have re-bought something so many times in my life… Apart from bread!
I had always wanted to try the foundation and setting powder from Vichy as I am someone who has a massive issues with her face, I have scarring from being such an accident prone child, a rash that sometimes flares up as a result of medication I have to take and also some hyper pigmentation which gives me the odd darker brown mottled effect on one of my cheeks. So when I finally took the bullet and bought some it changed my life for the better, I felt more confident and felt like I could finally wear my hair up again because I wasn’t going to feel like my face was too exposed.
The foundation is my godsend, every time I put it on when I’m having an utterly crappy face day which is normally around 6 days out of seven I get this sense of relief as I see it all fading away into one even canvas for the rest of my make up to be applied. I do have to mix two different shades together now though as we are getting into winter and I am losing my summer glow, but when the summer hits Nude is the exact match or if I’ve been having a bit of a play with the fake tan it does me right too.
The lasting ability of the foundation by itself is so long, at least 12 hours I would say. Its also not very heavy! I mean for a full coverage quite thick foundation it never seems like its blocking my pores or that my skin can’t breathe, it also blends like an absolute dream with the more you warm it up the more flattering and airbrushed it becomes. I like to use my fingers to apply it as I can really work in.
The powder is very finely milled and once applied translucent, it makes you look very airbrushed and all I can describe it as is even after applied giving the perfect base to apply the rest of your make up on. It’s also very soft to the touch and smooths out any sort of lumps or bumps you might have, it makes a massive scar I have on my forehead look practically non existent.
Both products combined gives me amazing coverage and great lasting ability of at least 15 hours with no need for touch ups because it seems to help the rest of my make up stay in place too.
I would say if you are worried about your skin or just like really good coverage with amazing lastability then you should definitely give this a shot, I mean it came on holiday with me to Magaluf and even lasted a good 12 hours in the sweltering heat!!.
You can buy both products from escentual.com at £13.15 each and can also get them from the likes of Boots and many other places for around £15-£16
Have you tried Dermablend? What are your thoughts?
As always let me know
